En Vidrio

Dan Holden's Creative Writing

Soaring

On rare occasion in my youth
We drove through old green country
To a particular stand of pines
A red clay road
Where a red and white glider
Delicate as a toy but not
Sat waiting to take us
Over Bavarian fields and vineyards, hills and castles
To dance with birds and sun on plumes of wind and air
We twirled, rising and gliding
Higher, higher
Cool wind rushing over plastic and canvas
Until we fell off, forward racing
For another bubble, another plume
Or until we could soar no more
Forward falling to red clay
And an anxious brother waiting
For his turn

That’s beautiful and sounds so peaceful and fun. Thanks for sharing.
